More Information

Hopefully you have found that this website has identified the basic history
of a family which interests you. For the Coates, Lighthall and Spurr families the website shows the ancestors back to the time they first arrived in North
America. For the Jost family it shows the history since they arrived in Canada.

The full digital data base contains much more information. While the
website shows 423 people, the data base contains about 2,800. The website contained only a little information about each individual person – their family linkages as well as dates and locations of their birth and death and in some cases of their marriages. The people in the data base include siblings and spouses of the family members, their spouses, parents and in some cases ancestors, and then the families of these members and spouses, their children, and in some cases grandchildren. The coverage in the data base is much more extensive and varies from person to person. For any person it may contain photos, stories, documents and sources.

Anyone who wants more family history information from the full data base
is invited to contact me at the coordinates below. Many of you will
recognize one or two members listed in the website, and may want more
information such as the families of these members, the children of these
families, and the children of these children. Much of this information is in
the digital data base but incorporating it in the website was just too
complicated for me. You may be interested to know that the MacFamily
Tree program is able to readily produce charts and reports to convey
important family tree information, such as ancestor charts, descendant
charts, relationship charts, person reports, Ahnentafel reports and even
narratives.
