NOTES:

Listed in Genealogies of the First Settlers of Schenectady. In 1776 John Lighthall (age 17) enlisted for seven months in Colonel Wynkoops Regiment in the Revolutionary War. In January 1777 he re-enlisted in the First Regiment of New York State, where he served as a private. He was discharged June 8, 1783 with “badge of merit for seven years of faithful service”. He received a pension, and after he died in 1835 his wife Nancy received the pension. Nancy is sometimes identified as Annetje.
